BSME Games 2017-18 - Registration Open!

We're excited to announce that the time has come to launch our BSME Games registrations for the 2017-18 academic year! The following information contains a lot of important hyperlinks so please ensure that you read it carefully.

 

BSME U15 Games

Date:              16 – 19 November 2017

BSME U13 Games

BSME U11 Large Games

Date:              01 – 04 March 2018

BSME U11 Small Games

Date:               08 – 11 March 2018

Host:               Safa British School

Coordinator:   James Hamm

Click here to register for the U11 Games and select whether you are a small school (3 form entry at Year 6 or less) or a large school (4 form entry at Year 6 or more).

 

Registration for all of the BSME Games will close on Sunday 21 May. Schools will be notified by Thursday 25 May whether their application has been successful.

 

Purpose of the BSME Games

The BSME Games are often the pinnacle of our member schools’ sporting calendar, and is the leading inter-country multiple sport competition in the Middle East. The purpose of the Games is to:

  • To provide students with a variety of sporting opportunities at an appropriate level for all member schools in a safe and competitive environment.
  • To ensure equal opportunity and participation to both boys and girls.
  • To ensure the Games provide a learning experience in sportsmanship and in the value of healthy competition.
  • To understand the value of the benefits of training in preparation for competition.
  • To enable students to specialize in sports appropriate to their age group.
  • To enable schools to be able to host by having sufficient flexibility to organize a programme appropriate to their particular environment and capabilities.

 

BSME Games 2016-17

U15

12 schools competed in the U15 Games which was hosted by St Christopher’s, 03-05 November 2016.

U13

This year's U13 Games was our largest yet, offering 16 schools the opportunity to compete. The event was hosted by British School Al Khubairat, 19-21 January 2017.

U11

The U11 Large Games was hosted by the British International School Abu Dhabi 02-05 March 2017 when 12 schools competed to be named the BSME U11 Large School Games Champions 2017. The results were as follows:

U11 Large Games:

G: Dubai English Speaking School

S: The British School Al Khubairat

B: St Christopher's School

 

U11 Small Games:

12 schools competed in the U11 Small Games which was hosted by Horizon English School, 09-11 March 2017.

G: Horizon English School

S: The English School, Kuwait

B: Doha English Speaking School

*The U11 Games are currently divided into two categories; large schools (4-form entry at Year 6) and small schools (3-form entry at Year 6).
