BSME has collaborated with Touch Middle East to bring you our inaugural Touch Rugby tournament which will be hosted by Cranleigh Abu Dhabi 11-12 November.
Touch is a sport also known in some countries as Touch Football, or Touch Rugby. Touch originated in Australia and New Zealand but has rapidly expanded internationally with more than 60 different countries currently playing the game. The Federation of International Touch are working towards the sport being recognised as a full Olympic sport. Touch is a unique game suited to all ability and fitness levels. It is a fast, minimal-contact sport that is fun to play and easy to learn.
Unlike other forms of Rugby & League, Touch is a minimal contact sport. It is not an inherently aggressive game, and is therefore suitable for all ages and abilities. Beginning from primary school age, boys and girls play together, and in the social adult league mixed teams are very popular, particularly for corporate groups.
Boys and girls are invited to participate at U11, U13, U15 and U19 age groups. Teams cannot be mixed and must have a minimum of 6 students and a maximum of 14. Schools can enter as many teams as they wish.
